The OVA is pleased to announce that Pakmen Volleyball Club and Maverick Volleyball Club were recently awarded with Volleyball Canada Club Accreditation.
Volleyball Canada’s Club Accreditation Program rewards the contributions Clubs make to the development of volleyball in Canada. It is a voluntary program which recognizes Clubs that demonstrate a commitment to:
- Accountable governance
- Risk management and liability
- Coach development
- Athlete development (grass roots to high performance)
- Capacity building
- Gender balance
- Volunteer development
The ultimate objective of this program is to strengthen volleyball’s Club system by rewarding, recognizing and enticing Clubs to increase their capacity and better serve the volleyball community. View the criteria here.
Pakmen and Maverick were the only clubs in Canada to achieve this status.
Kelly Smith, President of Pakmen Volleyball Club said, "we are delighted to receive this accreditation for the 5th consecutive year. We couldn't have done it without our committed group of coaches and volunteers who help drive this club. Thank you to the OVA for the continued support and giving us this opportunity to showcase our club."
Kerry MacLean, President and GM of Maverick Volleyball club, added "I am so proud that our fine group of volunteers are being recognized once again for their hard work and adherence to the standards and values that make us one of the few Accredited Clubs by Volleyball Canada along with the assistance of the Ontario Volleyball Association’s professional staff.”
Congratulations to these two outstanding clubs!
