The 2018 FIVB U19 World Championships will take place in Nanjing, China from June 26-July 4.
Ontario athletes have had tremendous success representing Canada at age division world championship events in the past with multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals. The most recent U19 medal earned by Team Ontario athletes came in 2011 when Grant O’Gorman and Aaron Nusbaum claimed bronze, beating Switzerland in Umag, Croatia.
Today, Aaron and Grant continue to represent Team Canada internationally. In fact, O’Gorman helped Canada win a 2nd berth into the 2016 Rio Olympic Games by being a part of the team that won the Continental Cup.
The selection tournament to determine who will represent Canada at this year's U19 World Championships will take place January 27 and 28 at Downsview Park in Toronto.
Athletes interested in representing Canada must register for the selection tournament here: https://site2661.goalline.ca/register.php?reg_form_id=20002
The registration deadline is January 22, 2018 or max 16 teams per gender. Participants must have been born January 1, 2000 or later and hold a valid Canadian passport expiring after January 2019.
