The Women and Girls in leadership and sport conference will celebrate women in leadership by providing hands-on workshops to equip coaches, parents, athletes, and administrators with tools to promote leadership, life skills, confidence, and knowledge, and to continue to promote women and girls into leadership positions. Emphasis will be placed on coaching girls in sport, maintaining female participation in sport, and strategies to help advance women and girls into leadership positions. This conference will also aim to highlight the lived female sport experience by showcasing strong female role models who have shattered the ceiling and broken into leadership roles.

Educating the greater sport community on confidence building, leadership, and advocacy are main objectives of this conference. The inclusion of multiple sport disciplines allows us to learn from other sports best practices, while at the same time recognizing similarities that exist around the sport community and provide a support network.

The conference will include presentations from:

Alisha & Tamara Tatham - Olympians

Alisha & Tamara both former Olympian Basketball athletes have transitioned into new roles in the sporting community. Their story, lived experience, and audacity to dream empower women and girls across all sports to reach their goals.

Therese Quigley - Former Athletic Director, University of Western Ontario

Therese joins us as a female that has influenced change and been a leader in advancing women in the sport industry. Her knowledge, lived experience, and ongoing advocacy are inspirational, educational, and empowering for females to pursue leadership roles in various sectors of the sport industry

Teresa Resch - Vice President of Basketball Operations, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment

Teresa joins us as a female leading the sport and business industry. Teresa has been an innovative leader for MLSE and jump-started the “She the North” Speaker series hosted by MLSE. Her knowledge and efforts for advocating for females in leadership roles is tremendous. Her role as an athlete turned sport administrator is inspiring and empowering to all.

And many more!

We hope you will join us for this uplifting, educational, and empowering event to promote Women and Girls in leadership.
